West Hempfield season came to an end with a 10-3 loss to Millcreek in their 2nd game of the State Tournament.  Zach Zimmerman was the starting pitcher and took the loss.  West Hempfield ended their season with an overall record of 23-6, by far their best record ever.

West Hempfield won the Region 7 Tournament with a 15-5 victory over Mifflin County (the game was stopped due to the 10 run rule after 8 innings). With the victory West Hempfield has qualified for the State Tournament that will begin on Tuesday, July 26th in West Lawn (near Reading). In the game vs Mifflin County. Zach Zimmerman pitched a complete game surrendering only 3 earned runs. Nathan Mori led the offense going 4-5, scoring 2 runs, and he drove in 4 runs. Greg Martin and Tim Norris had 3 hits each and Braden Royer, Zach Martinelli, and Brennan Rahl had 2 hits apiece. West Hempfield scored and amazing 67 runs and pounded out 81 hits over the 5 games played. This was the 1st Region 7 victory ever for West Hempfield and their 1st trip ever to the State Tournament.

West Hempfield dropped their 1st game in the Region 7 Tournament 16-14 to Bushy Run. However, Bushy Run must play Mifflin County tomorrow at 12:30 pm, the winner play West Hempfield in the Championship Game at 4:30 pm at Bedford High School. The winner of the 4:30 contest will represent Region 7 in the State Tournament in West Lawn that starts on Tuesday. In the loss to day, Brennan Rahl was the starting pitcher and got relief help from Greg Martin who took the loss. Rahl also led the offense going 4-5 with a double and scored a run. Martin had 3 hits including a double and Nathan Mori and Braden Royer had 2 hits each and drove in 4 runs apiece. Zack Martinelli tripled and singled and scored 3 runs. West Hempfield record is 22-4 on the season.

West Hempfield won their 3rd game in the District 7 Tournament in Bedford defeating Mifflin County by the score of 20-10 in 8 innings (game ended due to the 10 run rule). Jared Hensler was the starting pitcher and pitched the 1st 5 innings. Zack Martinelli pitched the final 3 innings to earn the victory. West Hempfield pounded out 19 hits in the game. Brennan Rahl, Zach Zimmerman, Tim Norris, & Nathan Mori had 3 hits each. Zimmerman hit his 8th homeun of the season while Tyler Lilja, Norris, & Martinelli all tripled. Also contributing was Braden Royer who had 2 hits and drove in 2 runs. West Hempfield plays again on Tuesday at 5 pm when they play Bushy Run at Bedford High School. If West Hempfield wins the play in the Championship game at 5 pm on Wednesday.

West Hempfield defeated Dubois 13-8 to earn their 2nd win in the Region 7 Tournament in Bedford. Zach Zimmerman picked up the mound win pitching 8 2/3 innings. Zach Martinelli came on in the 9th inning to complete the game. West Hempfield pounded 18 hits with Zimmerman going 4-6 including a triple and Tim Norris ent 3-4 with a Double. Also contributing was Anthony Fanelli who went 3-4 with a double and Tyler Lilja went 2-4 with a triple. Nathan Mori had 2 hits and Adam derco had a key base to drive in 2 runs. The West Hempfield 2, 3, 4, & 5 batters went a combined 12-17, scored 10 runs, and drove in 9 runs. West Hempfield plays Mifflin County at 5 pm on Monday at Bedford High School.

West Hempfield won their 1st Region 7 game with a 5-0 victory over Beech Creek on Saturday at Everet High School. Brennan Rahl pitched a 9 inning complete game. Rahl only through 108 and scattered 6 hits. Zach Zimmerman led the offense going 3-5 and scored a run. West Hempfield scored 4 runs in the top of the 1st inning on RBI's by Anthony Fanelli, Tyler Lilja, and Zack Martinelli. West Hempfield scored an insurance run in the bottom of the 8th inning when when Tim Norris scored Adam Derco with a sacrifice fly. This victory was the 1st victory ever in the Regional Tournament for any West Hempfield Team. West Hempfield resumes play on Sunday when they play a very good Dubois team, 5:00 pm first pitch at Bedford High School.

West Hempfield managed only 8 hits in the 9 inning game. West Hempfield won the District 31 Championship in 2005, finished runner-up in 2006 and now 2011, and reached the semi-finals in 2010. West Hempfield qualified for the regional tournament in Bedford starting on Saturday, July 16th. They will play Beech Creek and the game time is 12:30 pm at the Everett Elementary School.

West Hempfield eliminated Unity in the best of 3 series on Saturday, July 9th by the score of 8-4 at Whitney Field. Brennan Rahl pitched a complete game 6-hitter. Zach Zimmerman, Tim Norris, and Zach Martinelli all homered in the contest while Rahl had 2 doubles and Nathan Mori had a triple. With the victory, West Hempfield advances to the Championship game on Monday, July 11th and will play the Bushy Run/Hempfield East winner. Also, with the win, West Hempfield has earned a trip to Bedford to play in the Region 7 Tournament starting on July 16th.

West Hempfield won their 1st game of the semi-finals of the District 31 Championship with a 13-3 victory over Unity. Zach Zimmerman was the winning pitcher scattering 6 hits and pitching only 86 pitches in the contest. Zimmerman helped himself on offense hitting 2 homeruns and driving in 6 runs. Tim Norris went 4-4 in the game and Greg Martin had 3 hits. Zach Martinelli also hit a 2-run homerun in the game. West Hempfield pounded out 18 hits in the contest. The 2nd game of the best of 3 series will be on Friday, July 8th, 5:30 pm first pitch at Whitney Field in Unity. The winner of the series will take on either Bushy Run or Hempfield East for the District 31 Championship. Bushy Run leads the series 1-0. Both teams that make the Championship Series will be entered in the Regional Tournament in Bedford.

West Hempfield defeated Irwin 7-3 to win the best of 3 series 2 games to none and advance to the 2nd round of the District 31 Tournament (opponent yet to be determined). Jared Hensler pitched 6 2/3 innings surrendering only 6 hits and striking out 7 Irwin batters. Nathan Mori pitched the final 1 1/3 innings to earn the win. With the game tied 3-3 in the top of the 7th, Tyler Lilja earned a bases loaded walk to force in Zach Zimmerman. Greg Martin followed with a sacrifice fly to deep center field that scored Tim Norris. After a wild pitch, Zack Martinelli doubled down the left field line plating both pinch runner Adam Derco and Tyler Lilja. West Hempfield will host their 2nd round opponent on Thursday, July 7th, 5:30 pm.

West Hempfield ended their regular season with a 5-4 extra inning victory vs. Latrobe. Zach Zimmerman pitched a complete game to earn the mound win, he surrendered 4 runs (2 earned), struck out 6 batters and scattered 7 hits. Anthony Fanelli had 2 hits and Tyler Lilja and Tim Norris doubled in the contest. West Hempfield ends the regular season with a record of 15-2 and will claim at least co-champions of the South/East Division Championship. The 15-2 record is the best ever for West Hempfield. There will be a playoff meeting on Saturday to determine the seedings for the 8 team District 31 Tournament. West Hempfield will host a game on Sunday, July 3rd, time to be determined on Saturday.

Zach Zimmerman had 3 hits including a double and drove in 3 runs. Also providing the offense for West Hempfield was Tim Norris who had 2 hits and Brennan Rahl and Mori who both doubled. West Hempfield is now 13-2 on the season and will travel to Mt Pleasant tomorrow, 6:00 first pitch.

Jared Hensler was the starting pitcher and earned the win pitching 6 2/3 innings, surrendering no earned runs. West Hempfield managed only 5 hits in the contest, 2 coming off the bat of lead-off hitter Brennan Rahl (single & double) and Tyler Lilja and Tim Norris drove in 2 runs each. West Hempfield hosted Greensburg on Father's Day with West Hempfield coming out on top 11-8.  Brennan Rahl got the win pitching 6 innings and Zach Zimmerman earning the Save pitching the 7th.  Tim Norris hit a 3-run home run in the bottom of the 6th inning to break a 5-5 tie and Zack Martinelli hit a 3-run homerun later in the inning to help the team to victory.  Zach Zimmerman now has a 10 game hitting streak with a double in today's game.  Anthony Fanelli went 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 RBI's.  West Hempfield will host Unity at Lint Field on Tuesday, June 21st, 6:00 pm first pitch.

West Hempfield lost their 1st game of the season to Latrobe at Legion Keener Park.  The game was tied 2-2 when Brian Tomajko got his 1st legion hit driving in 2 runs to make the score 4-2.  Latrobe tied the score in the bottom of the 6th inning when a bad bounce single scored 2 runs for Latrobe.  Latrobe scored a run in the bottom of the 7th inning to pull out the victory.  Brennan Rahl pitched very well surrendering only 7 hits and striking out 7.  West Hempfield resumes play in Thursday when Yough travels to Lint Field.

West Hempfield started the 2011 season with a 15-2 victory over Derry at Derry High School.  Zach Zimmerman scattered 5 hits over 5 innings to earn the win.  Zimmerman also helped the offense going 4-5 including a double and a homerun to left field.  Anthony Fanelli went 3-4 with a double and the team pounded out 14 hits in the game.  West Hempfield is now 1-0 on the season and resumes play on Friday. March 27th when they travel to Unity.
