Coach Stokes
The new site looks great! It is great to see the fans, players, parents, and coaches continually escalating such a terrific program year by year. There's not a better feeling than observing a strong sense of honor, integrity, professionalism, and pride in every individual coming from the West side of Hempfield!

Another Good Decision by Coach Stokes

Wow, what a legion site. I have
coached for 35 years in Nebraska.
I have never seen a more informative site. You all don't realize what you
have here.
The training information is incredible. Whoever wrote the article "What
is Maturity"
has a good grip on communication with young men.
I am stealing that article and showing it to my team.
Good luck to West Hempfield and hope you win another championship.

This is the first time I've been to
this site in a while. Since way before my dad passed away. The first two
things I see are a picture dedicated to him and someone left a post in his
absence. There are fans, fellow players, and coaches the West Hempfield
Team reading this right now and they are probably saying duuuuh what did
you expect. But to anyone that visits this site and isn't from around
here. This is the type of baseball you DREAM about playing. Bob
Stokes is the type if coach you WISH to play for. This team
becomes a family, and families fight for each other. Thanks to everyone
who was at my father's funeral, and to all who sent their condolences. I
would love to get back together with everyone this summer and check out a
game. Bobby that's where you come in, love ya brother.

Remember the Post 53 alum that came to
practice this year just to say thanks for winning a championship? For
those who lead in the future, remember you are playing for all those who
have come before you as well as those who come after.
Once a teammate, always a teammate. |
|
July 20, 2006 |
Thanks Mike Harvat and
Steve Dubich for a great season!!!
You guys were awesome leaders on this team.
The younger players will never forget the example you set.
Good Luck in the Future!
Most of all Thanks once again to Coach Stokes.
What a great year!
It always feels great to get more than expected from your team, and you
did it again!
Thanks for all you give to our kids!!

Nothing says it better
than last year's championship billboard..."individuals win games, teams
win championships". You guys are one step closer after beating Latrobe.
Way to go T E A M!!! |

Why is it that the West
team is so successful when they appear to be an easily defeatable team on
paper when compared to other teams in and out of our area? One word:
Stokes.
He makes kids believe in themselves. |
|
July 16, 2006 |
Congratulations West
beat Murrysville. |
|
July 16, 2006 |
My kid played less than
10 innings for Bob Stokes this year. It was the best season of his life.
He makes even the bench-dwellers feel that they are key to a successful
season. Congrats Bob! |

June 17, 2006 |
Just discovered this
web site. As a former player and growing up in West Hempfield, I would
like to congratulate Coach Stokes and his 2005 team in bringing something
positive to Legion Baseball in Hempfield Township. Youngwood (West
Hempfield) was always the outcast team when I played and it's nice to see
that you brought a championship to our section of town in 2005. I am now
proud to say I played for the team many years ago. Know that you guys won
the big one for not only yourselves but for those that came before you.
Congratulations! Thanks for bringing pride to our community. Be proud of
what you did and for those that were there in 2005, cherish the memories.
Championships don't roll around all that often. |

Bob, great web site,
just want to say it has been great working with you all these years and
hope there are a lot more to come. Your 2005 Team was the greatest team I
have ever been around and that's not only because they won, its because
they were a team and that comes from how you coach and how you are so
close to the kids. I support you in everything you are doing and keep up
the great work. I know you will help bring Hempfield back on top.
Good Luck--Your Friend Rudy Ferrara |
